Chris O’Brien is the Manager of the Project Management Division in the Department of Sustainable Development and Construction with the City of Dallas.  His team serves two primary roles – implementing process improvement initiatives in areas related to development reviews; and project management of many large, complex and high priority projects within the City of Dallas. Notable projects include the Statler Hilton, the Hall Arts Hotel and Residences, the Canyon in Oak Cliff, Sylvan Thirty and many others. The Project Management Division strives to provide an excellent customer experience by reducing review times and enhancing transparency of the development review processes within the City through customer training initiatives, improved staffing levels for plan reviewers and expediting reviews when necessary.

Prior to joining the Project Management Division, Chris served in the City’s Office of Economic Development for seven plus years, contributing to projects that resulted in private investment of more than $800,000,000 and 11,000 new or retained jobs throughout the City with companies such as Deloitte, WhiteWave Foods, Ryan Company and Interstate Batteries.

Chris and his family moved here in 2007.  Prior to that, he worked in economic development in Kentucky and Tennessee.  He is an alumni of the University of Alabama.
